These 5 weight loss solutions claim to help you lose weight combined with other methods. They tend to work via one or more of these mechanisms:

1. Reversing the fat storage gene and increasing your metabolism to optimally burn fat. This stops the fat storage process allowing you to burn what you currently have, without storing any additional.

2. Reducing your appetite by making you feel fuller than you really are. This enables your body to want to eat less, making you take in fewer calories.

3. Increasing your fat burning process through specific fat burning enzymes. It is believed that taking these products increases caloric burn turning your body into a fat burning machine.

So without further udo, here are the TOP 5 WEIGHT LOSS SOLUTIONS of 2016 in order from best to worst, reviewed by science.

1. ProC3G®

Perhaps the least known of them all due to its recent introduction to the market, ProC3G® made its debut on the Dr. Oz show earlier this year.

Designed to reverse fat storage and increase your metabolism, ProC3G® takes a strong concentration of the powerful Cyanidin-3-Glucoside (C3G), along with other ingredients proven to increase energy and mood, helping you obtain your weight loss goals. The focus point of ProC3G® is to prevent fat build up and concentrate all of your efforts on the fat you already have. No more two steps forward, one step back. Of course, what you eat makes a huge difference but ProC3G® producers hint that some studies show that what you eat may no longer matter if you’re reversing the fat storage gene. Of course they remind us that binge eating and overeating are never a good thing for your weight.

How it works: C3G is naturally found in dark pigment foods such as black rice, black beans, and purple corn. Known as a fat busting antioxidant, C3G affects the gene expression of fat metabolism. If you normally have a high fat diet, you’re causing the gene to express itself as fat storage. When you take ProC3G® it actually turns off the gene for fat storage and turns on the gene for fat metabolism, letting you burn more fat and setting you closer to your goals.

Effectiveness: There are several independent studies on the effects of C3G, both animals and humans. C3G was first used by scientist to combat obesity in lab mice. After several successful trials, they concluded that C3G is an effective agent for inhibiting fat storage. Locating the studies was simple as well since many are making it readily available consider our recent obesity epidemic (2 in every 3 Americans is considered overweight or obese). Side Effects: There are no major side effects, but some users have noticed some minor jitters and excess energy when taken at night.

Bottom Line: This is our favorite option for two reasons:

It’s a natural option with some strong backing and results and two; the producers of ProC3G® stringently test their products by third party agencies, one being the Olympic Committee approved BSCG® which is important for this particular reason.

ProC3G® is pending human trial results to solidify its claims, so we still don’t “technically” know if it really works. What we do know is that C3G itself is proven and ProC3G® guarantees label claims, making one the other.

2. Hydroxycut

Currently one of the most popular weight loss supplements in the world, Hydroxycut has been around for more than a decade. Perhaps there’s a reason for it. Let’s look further.

There are several different types, but the most common one is called “Hydroxycut”. Hydroxycut is basically a blend of several different ingredients that are supposed to lead to weight loss. Caffeine is definitely the most potent of them. Numerous studies demonstrate that caffeine can boost metabolism (3-11%) and enhance fat burning (10-29%) but most effects only benefiting the short term. There is not enough evidence to show that caffeine has any positive effects long term. There is also the risk of becoming tolerant to high levels of caffeine, which may increase the chance of insomnia.

How it works: It contains several ingredients that are claimed to help with weight loss, including caffeine and a few plant extracts. (9)

Effectiveness: One study showed that it caused 21 lbs. of weight loss over a 3 month period (10)

Side Effects: if you are caffeine sensitive, you may experience anxiety, jitteriness, tremors, nausea, diarrhea, irritability, and insomnia.

Bottom Line: Unfortunately, there is only one study on this supplement and no data on long-term effectiveness. More research is needed and side effects have been known to overwhelm the desire to continue use.

3. Green Tea / Green Coffee

Green tea extract is a popular ingredient in many weight loss supplements. This is because studies have shown the main antioxidant in it, EGCG, to aid fat burning. Green coffee beans are simply normal coffee beans that haven’t been roasted. They contain two substances believed to help with weight loss, caffeine and Chlorogenic Acid.

How it works: Green tea extract is believed to increase the activity of norepinephrine, a hormone that helps you burn fat (11). The caffeine in Green Coffee can increase fat burning, and chlorogenic acid can slow the breakdown of carbohydrates in the gut.

Effectiveness: Many human studies have shown that Green Tea Extract can increase fat burning and cause fat loss, especially in the belly area (1213, 1415). Several human studies have shown that green coffee bean extract can help people lose weight (1617). A review of 3 studies found that the supplement made people lose 5.4 more pounds (2.5 kg) than placebo, a dummy pill (18).

Other Benefits: Green coffee bean extract may help lower blood sugar levels, and reduce blood pressure. It is also high in antioxidants (19202122).

Side Effects: Green tea extract is generally well tolerated. It does contain some caffeine, and may cause symptoms in people who are caffeine sensitive. Green Coffee can cause the same side effects as caffeine. The chlorogenic acid in it may also cause diarrhea, and some people may be allergic to green coffee beans (23).

Bottom Line: Green Tea and Green Tea Extract can help you lose belly fat and slightly increase fat burning. Green Tea bean extract may cause modest weight loss, but keep in mind that the studies where industry sponsored.

4. CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)

This particular product has been a popular fat loss supplement for years. Introducing CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). Why? Because CLA combats fat by introducing fat. Let me explain:

CLA is one of the “healthier” trans fats and is also naturally found in some fatty animal foods like cheese and butter.

How it works: CLA may reduce appetite, boost metabolism and stimulate the breakdown of body fat (24, 25).

Effectiveness: In a major review of 18 different studies, CLA caused weight loss of about 0.2 pounds (0.1 kg) per week, for up to 6 months (26). According to another review study from 2012, CLA can make you lose about 3 lbs (1.3 kg) of weight, compared to a dummy pill (27).

Side Effects: CLA can cause various digestive side effects, and may have harmful effects over the long term, potentially contributing to fatty liver, insulin resistance and increased inflammation.

Bottom Line: CLA is an effective weight loss supplement, but it may have harmful effects over the long term. The small amount of weight loss is not worth the risk.

5. Garcinia Cambogia

Garcinia Cambogia became a mainstream weight loss supplement after being featured on the Dr. Oz show in 2012.

Made from a small green fruit found in the jungles of Southeast Asian, this product had an amazing back story to it. Natives to the region believe the fruit to have magical powers when dealing with weight loss. The reason for this is because the skin of the fruit contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA). This is the active ingredient in Garcinia Cambogia Extract, which is marketed as a diet pill.

How it works: Animal studies show that it can inhibit a fat-producing enzyme in the body and increase levels of serotonin, potentially helping to reduce cravings (28, 29)

Effectiveness: One study with 130 people compared Garcinia Cambogia against a dummy pill. There was no difference in weight or body fat percentage between the groups (30). A 2011 review that looked at 12 studies on Garcinia Cambogia found that, on average, it caused weight loss of about 2 pounds over several weeks (31)

Side Effects: There are no reports of any major side effects, but some users have noticed mild digestive problems.

Bottom Line: Even though Garcinia Cambogia may cause modest weight loss, the effects are so minimal that they probably won’t even be noticeable.

Final Thoughts

Any time you are going to begin in a diet, it is very important that you know what you want. Dieting, if done incorrectly, can be very dangerous and any over use of some of these weight loss products can bring problematic long term effects.

We recommend you do your homework and get a good plan going.

Of the 5 we reviewed, we can honestly only recommend one and that ProC3G®. The risk versus reward is the best with that product. There are others like Green Tea and Green Coffee but the industry sponsored studies and long term affects is holding us back from that one.
